Safety Kyle Hamilton led the way at No. 9, with center Tyler Linderbaum checking in at No. 84, nose tackle Travis Jones slotted in at No. 90, and then, finally, running back Derrick Henry, who is ranked No. 98. The Ravens’ most valuable player of all, quarterback Lamar Jackson, did not make the cut.

That’s perfectly understandable, given how these rankings are based on just the 2025 season alone, and this past campaign was far from Jackson’s best. This past season marked the first time that Jackson had a losing record as a starting quarterback, with the team going 6-7 in his 13 games. And during his eight years in the league, 2025 was Lamar’s third-lowest in completion percentage (63.1%) and passing yards (2,549), and also his fourth-lowest in touchdown passes (21).

Even though his year was “mid,” as the kids say, by his standards, his overall passing numbers were still very good. Jackson had a 3:1 touchdown passes (21) to interceptions (7) ratio to go along with a stellar 103.8 passer rating.

It’s not in the air, but on the ground, where we see the major statistical drop off. Jackson had only 67 carries last season for 349 yards, both career lows. His previous career low in rushes was 2022, when he had 112.

The Ravens QB has also had at least 700 yards rushing in every other season but one, his rookie year, when he accumulated 695 rushing yards. That was also the only season in which his yards-per-rush were lower, as he averaged 4.8 in 2018, versus 5.2 this last term.

Obviously, Jackson was slowed by injuries in 2025, and he didn’t seem to have his usual explosiveness. Even when he was passed fit enough to play, he just wasn’t himself out there, and that’s why we saw far fewer rush attempts. The designed runs weren’t being called as often, and we didn’t see Jackson salvaging broken plays as often as we’re used to. It’s this ability to take a busted play and somehow turn it into something positive that really makes Lamar special, and his offensive line knows it.

Ravens left tackle Ronnie Stanley said it outright, noting that Jackson often saves him and his position groupmates with his “electric” athleticism.

“Anything can happen at any time, it’s electric,” Stanley said of Jackson, in an exclusive with Ratings.org. “He definitely saves us a lot. Definitely the most athletic quarterback in history.”

It’s very true- when the Ravens’ pass protection breaks down, or the OL unit is just not getting enough forward push in the run game, Jackson often turns nothing into something. And inevitably, this makes the o-line look a lot better. And this trait is difficult to translate into statistical terms because it’s hard to quantify.

Which makes it harder to factor it into PFF’s rating system, and thus it’s logical why he didn’t crack the top 101. However, this specific quality is also one of the main reasons Jackson has won two MVP awards and was very deserving of a third in 2024.

If Lamar is fully healthy again in 2026, he should no doubt be back in PFF’s top 101.

This article originally appeared on Ravens Wire: Lamar Jackson isn’t among Pro Football Focus’s top 101 players of 2025

https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lamar-jackson-isnt-among-pro-184540119.html

Pro Football Focus release their list of the top 101 players of 2025, and four Baltimore Ravens made the list.
