Curaçao (liqueur) – Wikipedia

History. Curaçao liqueur is traditionally made with the dried peels of the “Laraha”. Laraha is a bitter orange native to Curaçao with the Latin name Citrus Aurantium Currassuviensis, meaning “Golden Orange of Curaçao” . Shortly after the discovery of the island of Curaçao in 1499, the Spaniards planned for, among other activities, an agricultural development of Curaçao.
