Set in the fictional gated community of Fairmont Crest, located in an affluent Maryland suburb just outside Washington, D.C., Beyond the Gates follows the lives of a wealthy Black family. The series centers around the Dupree family, described as a “powerful and prestigious multi-generational family” and defined as “Black royalty.”
