I have it hanging at the top of my Gazebo and it is over 8″ off the ground, so changing the speeds and turning it off is a bit of an issue. I have used an outlet that is remote controlled and I can at least turn it on and off. The fan has turned many 90 degree days into a tolerable event sitting outside under the Gazebo.
