Felipe VI, in full Felipe Juan Pablo Alfonso de Todos los Santos de Borbón y Grecia, (born January 30, 1968, Madrid, Spain), king of Spain from 2014. Felipe was born in the latter years of the Francisco Franco regime, as the dictator’s health was declining and the government was taking halting steps in the direction of greater political and economic liberalization.
