The 2020 presidential campaign of Kamala Harris, the junior United States Senator from California, officially began on January 21, 2019. Harris has been considered a “high profile” candidate for the 2020 Democratic Party presidential primaries since 2016. Harris officially dropped out of the race on December 3, 2019, after weeks of falling poll numbers.
