The Algarve is a gem in blue and green tones; with sea and golf, rivers and mountains. It is full of white stone houses, orange and almond trees, carob and strawberry trees, and rivers such as the Guadiana and the Arade. It has plains and mountains (Monchique and Caldeirão, among others), and the Ria Formosa guards a unique ecosystem.
