Because the Diane Keaton 1984 Little Drummer Girl was filmed about 10 years after the time period it portrays, it has an authenticity of sets, locations, cars, fashion and human demeanor–zeitgeist, perhaps–that wasn’t as difficult to reproduce, restage and act then as it is now in 2018. This is where I feel the six-part AMC production is lacking.
