BIP44 (Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 44) is a standard for determining the path of a hierarchical deterministic (HD) wallet so that different types of cryptocurrency addresses can be generated. BIP44 is an extension of BIP32 and BIP43, which allows HD wallets to support multiple cryptocurrencies and multiple account structures.
