On-field drama! David Miller and Washington Sundar locked in heated exchange – Watch
David Miller turned the tide with a commanding 63 off 35 deliveries, striking seven fours and three sixes. Calm and assured for most of his innings, he rebuilt South Africa’s total alongside Dewald Brevis and Tristan Stubbs, steering the innings towards a competitive 187/7.
However, Miller’s composure briefly slipped during a tense on-field exchange with Washington Sundar. The flashpoint came when Stubbs nudged a single to the leg side and Miller set off from the non-striker’s end. Sundar appeared unhappy, believing Miller had left his crease early before the ball was released, and immediately raised the matter with the umpire.
Miller responded by confronting Sundar, leading to a heated argument between the two. On-field umpire Chris Gaffaney stepped in to calm proceedings, and South Africa captain Aiden Markram later joined during the drinks interval to defuse the situation. The precise trigger for the disagreement remained unclear, and the tension did not resurface. Miller was dismissed shortly afterwards, briefly offering India hope.
That hope faded quickly. Stubbs delivered a strong late flourish to lift the Proteas to 187, setting India a stiff target of 188.
The chase unravelled almost instantly when the in-form Ishan Kishan fell for a duck. India never recovered. Partnerships were scarce, the required rate ballooned, and wickets tumbled steadily. Bowled out for 111, India slumped to a heavy 76-run loss, damaging their net run rate and leaving their Super 8 campaign hanging in the balance.

🗞️ Headlines: Blue and claret kick off Monday
The covers this Monday are tinged with blue and maroon. Not only because of the leadership that FC Barcelona has reclaimed after defeating Levante UD at Camp Nou, but also because another blue and maroon team from a different sport is making headlines: Baskonia.
The sister club of Deportivo Alavés won the Copa del Rey in basketball yesterday after defeating Real Madrid. A triumph that earns them the front pages in the newspapers.
Two colors to start the Monday.

It’s so hard to ‘Keep The Faith’ watching this Celtic team
It’s so hard to ‘Keep The Faith’ watching this Celtic team
As I watched Celtic get beaten for the second time this week, I have to admit that the faith I had in this team finally sparking into life at some point this season has completely evaporated…

My patience has run out with this current Celtic squad. I’m sick to death of building my hopes up that we are going to turn a corner and go on a run this season. I’ve finally admitted to myself that it’s not going to happen. This lot don’t have it in them.

I had fooled myself in the last few days into believing that yesterday could be the day we burst into life. After Thursday’s embarrassment they would fly out of the traps desperate to prove they are still the top dogs domestically. We were going to hand Hibs a beating, leaving us ready to head to Ibrox and put theRangers out of the title race. It was all a fantasy. I was listening to my heart, not my head.
If I had of listened to my head I would have seen yesterday coming a mile off. I have stated multiple times in my articles this season that this is one of the worst Celtic squads I have seen since the 90s. Many have disagreed with me on this. After what I have seen this past week, no one will change my mind on this.

This current squad is made up of three different groups.
Players who aren’t fit to wear the famous hoopsPlayers who want out of the club andPlayers who can no longer perform at their previously high levels.

The vast majority are in the first category. Inferior players who shouldn’t be anywhere near our club.
The second category includes Maeda, Hatate and Yang. Players who all made it known they would have preferred to move on this season but have basically been retained because we didn’t have able alternatives lined up to replace them. Think back to ‘the wantaways’ in the Covid season, Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie and Kristoffer Ajer and how that worked out.
Maeda, Hatate and Yang all previously good players who have given a lot to the club but have had their heads turned and have lost their focus.

The third category includes top players who are now on the decline. McGregor, Schmeichel, Forrest and Tierney. Once vital players for the club but now obviously past their best. The willing is still clearly there, but the output just not once what it was.
All of this creates a squad just not capable of being the winning machine we have all been so fortunate to have become accustomed to over these past few years.
It’s the end of an era and anyone who doesn’t see it needs to take their head out of the sand.
At this point I genuinely can’t see us winning anything this season. Defeatist attitude? Probably. What about keeping the faith? Well I’ve tried that but I haven’t seen anything from this squad that indicates they are capable of putting in the type of performances necessary to go on a winning run between now and the end of these season.
Talking about performances, can you honestly remember any that have been good this season?
Many will point to some of the big European results. The win in Rotterdam. The gutsy draw against Bologna. The win over Utrecht. All good results but against who exactly? Feyenoord were in the middle of an awful run of results. They had their Ultra section closed that night. Bologna were also going through a dismal spell when we met them. Utrecht were the Europa League whipping boys.

The league campaign has been atrocious. We are almost in March and we have failed to beat our two biggest rivals, theRangers and Hearts, so far this season. We have lost seven out of 27. More losses than both those clubs, more than Motherwell. Same amount of losses as Hibs. Our goal difference is 21, which is way behind Hearts, Motherwell and theRangers. There have only been a couple of games the whole season I can remember us actually dominating.
We should have known yesterday was coming, I haven’t been the only one saying that we couldn’t keep pulling out stoppage time winners. I harped on that our luck was going to run out unless we improved performances. We celebrated wildly after late winners in our past two League games. They were great moments but when you are relying on last minute goals to beat the worst two sides in the league alarm bells should have been ringing.

If I take my green tinted glasses off it’s genuinely a struggle to see how we can go on and win the title.
The only glimmer of light is that our two biggest rivals for the title are in all honesty pretty hopeless too. They will certainly drop more points this season but are we good enough to capitalise? At this point you have to say no. If anything the biggest threat could actually be Motherwell. They have the wind in their sails at the moment as the others are battling squalls.

Next Sunday really is the last chance saloon for Celtic.
A draw is probably no longer good enough. We have to head to Ibrox and claim all three points if we are to remain title challengers. A loss and it’s certainly over. Unlike yesterday I won’t be getting my hopes up. I’ve been let down too many times already. I would love to be pleasantly surprised come 2pm next week.
Unfortunately I’m finding it hard to be positive after yesterday’s performance and result. .

Defeat at Osasuna: Real Madrid makes a decision on Dani Ceballos
Real Madrid once again lost their grip on the LaLiga top spot after a 2-1 defeat to Osasuna last Saturday. Dani Ceballos, who failed to impress during the match, has now found himself completely sidelined by Los Blancos.
Perhaps Dani Ceballos would have been better off signing with Olympique de Marseille last summer. The Spaniard turned down the Marseille club at the very last minute. Now, he’s enduring a tough season and is facing renewed criticism after his performance against Osasuna on Saturday, in Real Madrid’s 2-1 defeat.
According to information from Defensa Central, Real Madrid has decided to sell him after another difficult match. His transfer fee has reportedly been set at 10 million euros, and the club’s management will not stand in the way of his departure.

Aldridge labels Forest VAR call “corruption” despite Liverpool’s late victory
Aldridge labels Forest VAR call “corruption” despite Liverpool’s late victory
Liverpool’s dramatic 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest sparked relief at the final whistle, but John Aldridge was still talking about the officiating long after Alexis Mac Allister’s stoppage-time winner.
The former Liverpool striker followed the match in real time and posted a series of reactions online, focusing mainly on the disallowed Mac Allister goal for handball which arrived shortly before the eventual 97th-minute winner.
Even though we ultimately took all three points, Aldridge made it clear he felt the earlier decision crossed a line.
“That’s one of the most corrupt decisions I’ve seen in my 67 years on this earth! Absolute joke.
Ok, we didn’t deserve it but a disgrace to football!” (John Aldridge on X)
Aldridge reacts to Liverpool VAR controversy
Aldridge’s frustration started at half-time when the performance itself was poor and he acknowledged it openly.
“Well that wasn’t good on the eye! In fact I’m shocked at what I was watching, please don’t use injuries as an excuse!
“I’m delighted it’s 0-0 at ht but Arne’s team talk is just the hairdryer treatment folks.” (John Aldridge on X)
Liverpool had struggled to keep the ball, Florian Wirtz had pulled out in the warm-up, Curtis Jones had been drafted in late, and Dominik Szoboszlai was even asked to cover right-back before Arne Slot reshuffled again.
The moment that truly angered the 67-year-old though came when Mac Allister’s initial goal was ruled out after the ball brushed the Argentina international’s arm from close range.
Mac Allister himself later admitted frustration with the ruling: “It hit my back and my elbow. I understand the rule but if you understand football, that goal should have stood.”
Aldridge doubled down after the final whistle: “We didn’t deserve the win but after that awful decision 😂😂😂 Justice was done folks! YNWA.”
VAR official becomes talking point
The Liverpool legend even attempted to identify the match officials after the game, linking the call to previous frustrations: “Can someone let me know who was the VAR assistants for our game today folks!
“They need calling out, that decision in football terms is a total disgrace! Yes, I said corrupt and I’ll stand by that, every ex-player would be shocked at that being disallowed!”
He later added: “VAR Tierney! Say no more folks.”
Questions of Paul Tierney’s officiating have surfaced before around Liverpool matches, with pundits previously questioning decisions involving the same official, and Aldridge’s reaction shows how little trust remains among many former players when subjective handball rulings are involved.
In truth, Liverpool did not play well for large parts of the afternoon, Forest had 12 first-half shots, and we survived long periods inside our own box, but football often turns on fine margins.
Mac Allister’s disallowed effort became an argument about officiating, while his stoppage-time winner became an argument about resilience.
Aldridge ended up accepting both realities at once: the performance was below standard, yet the late goal still felt deserved in a different way after the earlier controversy.

ANTA an option for Stephen Curry?
Sole Retriever can exclusively report that Stephen Curry has narrowed his potential landing spots to three sneaker brands, and ANTA is among them. Longtime supporter and sneaker sponsor of his former Splash Brother, Klay Thompson, ANTA has made tremendous strides in the US market in recent years, opening up their first stateside flagship store in Beverly Hills during NBA All-Star Weekend. It was at this ribbon cutting that they rewarded Klay with very own lifetime deal, showing they can offer the kind of loyalty Curry Brand’s previous home ultimately could not.

It’s been a wild week for Steph and the Curry Brand. Kind of sounds like a band, and has the drama of one, too. Earlier this week, we broke a story about Under Armour walking back their promise to let Steph keep all of his Curry Brand assets and stealin… I mean migrating all of Curry Brand’s nearly 500,000 Instagram followers to their Under Armour Basketball account, leaving Curry’s eponymous label with about 100 followers. Thankfully, our readers and Curry’s fans have heard the rallying cry and have been re-following Curry Brand and breaking free of the moisture wicking turtlenecks that bind them.

How Gunners attacked from every angle in north London derby win
[BBC]
There have been times in the past when you are playing Arsenal that Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard are the two players you know you need to stop.
If they could condense play in their areas, teams would think they could control them – and if it goes over to another part of the pitch, they can cope with it.
On Sunday, however, it felt like Arsenal were coming from every angle in the end. Eberechi Eze, especially, was getting on the ball in these pockets of space in front of the Tottenham defence.
That helped Viktor Gyokeres too, because it meant there was more room for him.
Gyokeres had started well anyway, and had a great early chance which he made himself.
It probably helped that he had a yard of pace on Radu Dragusin, who is not the quickest defender, but he played on him nicely and it was clever of him to stay on the left side.
I remember watching a lot of Gyokeres’ goals for Sporting and he liked to come off that flank a lot, and we have not seen him do it enough this season.
That might change now and, when he got his first goal, it was like the weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
Some of the Arsenal fans who are not convinced by him are going to be more on his side now he has scored twice against Spurs, and his goals were top quality too.
I’d say that was one of his best games in an Arsenal shirt and to do it in a north London derby will do him the world of good.
