Recap: What happened at OKC Thunder's Saturday, Jan. 10 practice

The Oklahoma City Thunder held practice on Saturday. They’re fresh off a 21-point comeback in their 117-116 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.

The Thunder will host the Miami Heat on Sunday. It remains to be seen if Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, Cason Wallace, Isaiah Hartenstein and others will suit up for that one. All four plus more sat out OKC’s road win over Memphis.

Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault and Jalen Williams talked to the media after practice. Daigneault talked about Williams’ ongoing recovery with his surgically-repaired wrist. Williams also did the same. That’s been a big talking point that won’t go away for the rest of the season.

Jalen Williams: “We almost got a little comfortable in a way where we’re just beating teams and expecting to win. We don’t have enough humility or humbleness going about how we’re winning the games… I don’t think we were going on about that process well the last couple games.” pic.twitter.com/Kv4lGHPZ7q

Jalen Williams on his wrist: “It sucks. It’s a very annoying process. Nobody is going to be more frustrated than me when shots are short. It’s one of those things I gotta learn throughout the game. It’s not like I’m on a bad team where I can jack 40 shots and figure it out that… pic.twitter.com/0U3QDRTd2R

Jalen Williams on why Chet Holmgren should be an All-Star player: “For the 3rd year in a row, we’re the 1st team in the West. Chet has been at the helm of that with Shai. He’s hooping. Do I have to do the whole ‘Watch the games’ thing again?” pic.twitter.com/RPHvvo17a9

Mark Daigneault on their game-winning stop against the Grizzlies: “Once we got a matchup settled, I thought Ajay and K-Rich did a great job fighting those catches to their 2 guys and put Coward on an island with AC.” pic.twitter.com/GsJuqTA5nk

Mark Daigneault on Kenrich Williams: “I was so happy for him because he’s 100% of the time inside the team. He’s always competing in his minutes… Usually when you sub guys out after they made a couple of shots, it’s not hugs and kisses. He runs off the floor, he daps everybody… pic.twitter.com/BBAry4hHCg

Mark Daigneault on Jalen Williams’ wrist: “It’s a circumstance that’s less than ideal. It’s forcing him to work through that. Give himself some grace, put the work in day by day — even though the changes day by day may not be drastic. Focus on the other things that he can do to… pic.twitter.com/GfGJc2I3XP
