Real Madrid very serious about their pursuit of 16-year-old prodigious attacker

Real Madrid very serious about their pursuit of 16-year-old prodigious attacker

According to journalist Rodra in his report for ESPN, Real Madrid are “very serious” about signing 16-year-old Mexican talent Gilberto Mora, who has become one of the brightest sensations of the recent U-20 World Cup.

The young midfielder has caught the attention of the club’s scouting department, and his profile is being closely monitored at Valdebebas.

The report states that Real Madrid see Mora as a player with very good potential. However, sources close to the club acknowledge that “at 16 years old, he may still need some growth” before determining if he can truly succeed at the highest level.

While Real Madrid have made a habit of identifying young talents early, the club’s technical staff remain cautious.

As one insider noted, “it’s still too early to know whether he will become a top player fit to wear the Real Madrid shirt or if he’ll just be a great player.”

Following the Vinicius and Endrick model

Those within the club believe that Mora is the standout name of the 2008 generation. The youngster will turn 17 on October 14th, meaning he cannot move to Europe at least until October 2026.

Still, this limitation has not deterred Real Madrid in the past, having previously signed Vinicius Jr. and Endrick as minors before moving to Santiago Bernabeu.

According to reports, two key factors make Mora an especially appealing prospect for Los Blancos.

Firstly, his position on the pitch aligns with areas Real Madrid want to strengthen in the future. Secondly, the club views the Mexican market as a vital part of its global expansion strategy.

Signing a promising player like him would not only boost Real Madrid’s presence in Mexico but also help deepen their connection with one of their largest international fanbases.

For now, the interest remains in the scouting and evaluation phase, but Mora’s name continues to circulate in Madrid’s corridors.

How to watch NFL games in 2025:

Many NFL games are broadcast on local channels, so if you’re looking to catch an in-market game, it may be as simple as turning on your TV (or setting up a digital TV antenna) or finding a live TV streaming service that carries the correct RSN (Regional Sports Network). If you want to watch out-of-market games, a $7 monthly subscription to NFL+ will let you watch every out-of-market local and primetime game in the season on your phone — but only a select few regular-season games on your TV. You could also spring for the uber-expensive NFL Sunday Ticket package to get every out-of-market Sunday game of the season.

When it comes to nationally broadcast games, NFL games typically air across ESPN, NBC, CBS, Fox, ABC and NFL Network. Thursday Night Football games stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, select football games will stream exclusively on Peacock, games on CBS will stream live on Paramount+, and Monday Night Football games will air on ESPN or ABC and stream on the newly revamped ESPN+ this season. That’s six channels and four streaming platforms to keep up with this season — and that’s not counting your local RSN’s for in-market games and an NFL+ or NFL Sunday Ticket subscription for out-of-market games. Plus, Netflix is once again hosting at least two Christmas Day matches, so add that subscription into the mix. And we can’t forget about Fox One, Fox’s first streaming service, a place where you can also stream games airing on FOX (if you don’t already have access to it).

Confused? You’re not alone. Here’s a breakdown of the platforms we recommend checking out during the 2025 NFL season, so that come game time, tuning into your favorite team’s games will be as easy as simply turning on the TV.

The Dolphins need to fire GM Chris Grier before they waste the NFL trade deadline

It appears the Miami Dolphins are toast.

After losing to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, the Dolphins are now 1-5 on the year. That leaves them three games behind the seven AFC teams that are already have at least four wins. Perhaps winnable matchups against the Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Falcons, and Baltimore Ravens to round out October could help the Dolphins rebound. But the Miami winning eight of its last 12 just to get above .500 feels inconceivable.

For some teams drowning in losses, there’s nothing to do but sink deeper and wait for the offseason to provide a reprieve. But the Dolphins are fortunate to have several veteran players that could interest other teams and clear space from the Miami’s crunched salary cap in 2026.

The hang up is general manager Chris Grier.

Is Grier, whose spot at the helm of the franchise is likely hanging on by thread, willing to trade away veterans, knowing it’ll hurt the Dolphins’ chances at getting another couple wins in 2025?

According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Bradley Chubb is a player that has drawn interest from teams with the trade deadline just a few weeks away. Trading Chubb would move a veteran with cap hits north of $30 million in each of the next two seasons off the roster and return the Dolphins some draft capital. But is Grier willing to part with Miami’s sack leader knowing it isn’t going to help the team’s struggling defense get back on track and help save his job?

Chubb isn’t the only player who could be a valuable trade chip right now. Jaelan Phillips and Darren Waller are among the veterans set to become free agents in the 2026 offseason who could intrigue a contender. As could NFL tackles leader Jordyn Brooks and five-time Pro Bowl safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, who have $10.1 million and $18.8 million cap hits in 2026, respectively.

Losing those players won’t help the Dolphins turn things around in 2025. But dealing them could set up the team to rebuild quicker and be competitive again sooner.

Take the Washington Commanders, for example. Just two years ago, the team traded both Chase Young and Montez Sweat ahead of the 2023 deadline. It sank an already bad defense lower and Washington lost its last eight games of the year.

The Commanders used the No. 2 overall pick they received from all those losses to take quarterback Jayden Daniels. The draft picks they received in the Young and Sweat trades were used to add defensive back Mike Sainristil, tight end Ben Sinnott, and wide receiver Luke McCaffrey. Washington then leaned on its young new core and a few key veterans on its way to the NFC Championship.

Those kind of future-oriented deals are in the Dolphins’ best interest right now, but they might not be in Grier’s.

There’s no time to waste. Five NFL players were traded in just the last week (Greg Newsome II, Tyson Campbell, Odafe Oweh, Alohi Gilman, and Joe Flacco).

If Stephen Ross hopes to maximize the Dolphins’ opportunities to set themselves up for success, the time is now to move on from Grier as general manager.
